Cybersecurity 101
Cybersecurity is the technique of protecting internet-connected systems such as computers, servers, mobile devices, electronic systems, networks, and data from malicious attacks.
Cybersecurity Goals
Cybersecurity aims to achieve at least one of these three goals:
- Protect the confidentiality of data.
- Preserve the integrity of data.
- Promote the availability of data for authorized users.
Cybersecurity Attackers
- Cyber Criminals: Individuals who steal information for personal gain.
- Hacktivists: Individuals who carry out malicious activity to promote a political agenda, religious belief, or social ideology.
- State-sponsored Attackers: Entities with particular objectives aligned with the political, commercial, or military interests of their country of origin.
